I am trying to set my domain name up so it correctly routes to my server. I purchased one from namecheap and changed the name servers to cloudflare so those two are communicating correctly. Now I setup my dns records in cloudflare like so

After completing all of that I ran through the traefik setup using my cloudflare global api key. Now when I try to go to something like portainer.yourdomainname.com it does not work.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

DNS A Record = portainer // your IP = orange Cloud
DNS A Record = www // your IP = orange Cloud
cache >> purge everthing

open portainer >> CTRG + F5 --> wait 5min press F5

This is what works for me:
* => IP
www => IP (cache on)
domain.xyz => IP (cache on)

I see you have the * dns entry (wildcard)
with having that, i do not believe you need the sonarr.domain.xyz

Actually you only need the wildcard. I use namecheap and cloudflare too. Make that an A record and you're fine. Now one thingie is that wildcards aren't very secure as cloudflare will tell you. If you created your treafik correctly, that will add all the other subdomains for you or use the wildcard.

redeploy treafik with the api key from cloudflare

create new one --- the redeploy treafik > with the new API key

So strange, traefik never made the subdomains for me haha

I too use namecheap and cloudflare. The wildcard didnt work for me. Use @ then point to ip i dont run the cdn orange cloud at all. My traefik did not create my subdomains. I just make them manually.

This may be another noob question, but if you have a generic ISP (Comcast, Spectrum, etc) that uses DHCP to assign you your IP, does Traefik + CloudFlare (or Google Names) deal with the situation of the IP being changed without disruption? I have used DynDNS for years without a problem but would like to move to something like this for the new linux server I'm building.
